About
HYPESCRAPER is where engineers write down what really happened when their company rolled out AI: what they tried, what it cost, what broke, what they fixed and what they would tell the next team. Real stories, real numbers, no hype.
Why it exists
Most of what you read about AI at work comes from people selling it. The people running it have the better stories, and they rarely get to tell them. A field report here takes about two minutes, can be completely anonymous, and is read by people about to make the same decision you made last quarter.
What you can do
- Read field reports for free. No account, no cookies, no tracking.
- Post yours in about two minutes, with an account or as a Ghost with no account at all. Every published report lights one block on the Tower.
- Vote Useful or Hype. The most useful reports rise.
- Play: one daily question that takes five seconds, and Hype or real?, ten claims a day.
- Ask the field for €19: a practical question to engineers who already did it. Two answers in seven days or your money back.
What it is not
It is not a representative survey: the people who post are the people who chose to. We say that next to every number. It is not a review site for vendors, and it is not a place to name a company's internals or its customers. It is not professional, legal or financial advice.
Who pays for it
Reading and posting are free and stay free. The site is paid for by Ask the Field, Pro (€8 a month), research questions for companies, the quarterly Reality Report and clearly labelled sponsored placements with a public receipt. Nobody can pay to change a report, a vote, a rank or a number.
The tone
Dry, kind, a bit tired. We make fun of keynotes and slides, never of the people doing the work.
