How we verify views
We count a view when at least half of a sponsored spot has been on screen for one second while the tab is visible. Then the browser sends one small request to our ad server. That is the whole mechanism.
What the request carries
- Which sponsor, which spot, which release of the site, and a short page token.
- No cookie, no ID, nothing stored on the reader's device.
What we keep
- Our server drops the IP address and all request headers before it writes the log.
- Each log line keeps: the time, the sponsor code, the spot, the release, whether it came from a hypescraper.io page (yes/no), whether the browser looks like a bot (yes/no), and whether the same network already counted this sponsor in the last 10 minutes (checked in memory, never written).
- Lines are deleted after 72 hours. Once a day we count them and keep only the totals.
Valid, invalid, held
- Verified: passed every check.
- Invalid: a bot, a repeat from the same network within 10 minutes, or not from our pages.
- Held: unclear, waiting for the next daily count.
Refunds
If a campaign has not delivered its views within 60 days, we refund the share you did not get, automatically.
Pro members never see sponsors and never send this request.
